Pacific Coast Soap Works uses Abalone shells for soap holders as well as for smudging

Hordes of abalone once coated the rocks and sea floor. But because of over harvesting throughout most of the 20th century, wild abalone now are scarce. State regulations prohibit the commercial harvesting of abalone, but they allow them to be farmed. Pacific Coast Soap purchases our Abalone from one of only two California aquaculture operations that use environmentally safe methods to cultivate red abalone in the same waters the species has populated for millennia.
Abalone shells are used for traditional smudging. They are excellent for burning sweet grass and sage or any other type of incense.
